In this week's episode presented by Adrian Edmondson the series travels to Middleham, otherwise known as the racehorse capital of the North and meets racehorse trainer Simon West who runs Castle Stables, a small yard in the village. This summer Simon has sets his sights on turning around the fortunes of the yard and is pinning his hopes on two new horses.
Meanwhile, Ade travels back to Moor Lodge Farm to catch up with farmers Carol Mellin and her seventeen year old son Philip. Last year, after the death of her husband Albert, Carol took the decision to lose the dairy side of the business. This summer Carol and Phil have embarked on a new venture, training and breeding sheep dogs.
In Swaledale there's a ceremony to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Hudswell Air Disaster where two planes collided in mid-air above the small Dales village. The villagers host an emotional remembrance service to honour the airmen who tragically lost their lives in the disaster and unveil a plaque in their memory.
